The model that is currently circulating on the streets is a coupe and convertible models. However, some sources say that VW is considering to launch other variants, such as SUV and Speedster models.
In 2000 and VW have introduced a variant of the SUV, the Beetle Dune Concept to the public. Unfortunately, until recently, VW has not realized the SUV concept car. Whereas this model can be arch-rivals other SUV cars.
At the Detroit Auto Show 2005, VW introduced the Beetle Ragster concept car that combines the name of Ragtop and Speedster. But the public still have to be patient waiting Speedster whether the variant will be produced with a more slender body style.
The latest generation VW New Beetle Mk5 Golf platform that gets the effect and the Space Up concept Up. VW CEO Martin Winterkorn said VW New Beetle that is expected to be produced in Puebla, Mexico.
